About TelecomWorld101

TelecomWorld101 is an independent educational resource covering the technology that keeps the world connected: telecommunications infrastructure, networking, data centers, wireless and cell site systems, fiber optics, satellite internet, PBX and VoIP, network security, and the lifecycle of telecom hardware.

Our goal is simple: explain complex telecom topics clearly for engineers, IT teams, students, researchers, and business decision-makers.

Trusted by researchers and public-sector resources

TelecomWorld101 articles have been cited in peer-reviewed research published by Wiley, Springer, and Cambridge University Press, including a 2025 study in the Journal of Field Robotics, and referenced by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ ASPR TRACIE in its emergency-preparedness resources on satellite internet and emergency communications.

Who we are

TelecomWorld101 is run by a small team with hands-on experience in electronics recycling, telecom equipment recovery, and IT asset disposition. We work with telecom and network hardware at the end of its service life, from cell site baseband units and radios to enterprise switches, routers, and phone systems. That practical perspective shapes what we write.

Helping businesses with surplus equipment

Network upgrades, cell site decommissioning, and data center moves leave behind equipment that still has value, or that needs to be recycled responsibly. Through our Sell or Recycle page, businesses can share what they have and hear from vetted equipment buyers and certified recyclers in our network.

We believe in being upfront: our partners may include companies affiliated with TelecomWorld101, and we may be compensated for referrals. Partner relationships do not influence our educational articles.
